Old People?

My grandma is in her 80's and very racist. One day all of my family members went to visit her. We got on the topic of my brother going on his mission for our church. She then got babbling on on about how she doesn't want my brother to get sent to anywhere in Canada or America she said that she didn't anyone of her grandchildren to leave the states because it is too dangerous to leave North America. She also said that all of the Mexicans and Asians should go back to their own country. My dad started disagreeing with her and telling her that she was wrong. After awhile it was time for a subject change.

In future situations when racism is involved, I can confront that person/people and tell them how I feel about what they said or did.

  2. It's hard to convince someone that it is wrong to be racist when they have been that way all their live. So, simply saying that you feel uncomfortable with the terms they use/used could be a good solution.

  3. It's hard to convince some-one that something is wrong, when they've grown up with it all their life, and was never told differently.

  4. (you could clean up your sentences and such) and yeah that's hard to change an elderly's perspective on the world.
